@dancedar your system is good, but it has one big flaw. I do not want to write in public (leakers can read it), but send me a message if you want to know more.

Other sites do a similar process (utilizing Invites; closed site); there is a requisite vetting process (as established by the Admins / Mods . . .

I find this discussion kind of an oxymoron.

Let me get this straight. The complaint as I understand it is a warez site -this site, is complaining about content that is shared here is getting shared on another warez site?

    That's cute.

What about the creators of the content? I'm sure they're not too happy about their content being shared on this site!

There is more than one supplier of shared paid content on these sites. It's not like this site has a monopoly on sharing paid content. In a way, this site is worse than the others as there is a fee (on most things) to play here. The other warez sites don't charge a fee, you just have to contribute.

stop talking and let's see what you bring to the table here.
If you feel this site is worse, feel free to leave. Why bother joining this forum?
Go and hang out in your "lovely" warez sites.

Please go to the "request" section in this forum now, buy the stuff that people requested there and share it here.
And then you have "RIGHT" to complain. As long you are still "consuming", please know your place.

There is a degree of irony to the context of the thread - but this site is NOT like others - - - if your attention to the rules and if you take the time to peruse various on-topic conversations, I'm confident you'll reverse that statement. Many of the initial posts on this site are "shared" on others; often at cost - and that is some of the beef that some may take issue. The element of the "creator" is noteworthy but essentially null because you're entering / choosing to become a member with that understanding -- so that particular issue is moot. If one chooses to take a relative moral high-ground, then by all means please pay cost for all you choose to own (and never share; or share within a tight circle).

After a certain point, the creators of content often treat their packages as commodities to the end point of generating revenue at variations without any straight discernment of cost (i.e. I've seen packages going for several thousands and simultaneously being offered for pennies on the dollar - if ya bought it at the former and find out about the latter, good luck getting a refund for the difference). This is not a particularly bad practice but does tend to leave a bitter taste for one paying full price.

Very few "creators" bring genuine innovation to the table - and most stand on the shoulders of those that came before (and only the honorable ones credit those whose shoulders bear the foot-marks). So when I come across those courses reflective of these elements - I'll gladly pay top dollar for such respectable content. Sites such as this allow one to test the material without loosing one's sneakers - and if the consumption of the content yields positive outcomes for one - I think (or hope) the person will [pay it forward / or back].

So - to point - you can become a GOLD member via paid subscription OR opt to contribute and attain same status following 100 likes (then cash in those likes for 1 month Gold). It's a unique and novel process (I additionally recommend looking into the topic of Group Buys; albeit these are of recent becoming nascently absent of oversight [hope that changes soon]). I think if you take a good look around - you'll be quite pleased at what you observe.

    Best regards -

Is that still accurate, being able to trade likes for gold? I've been paying for gold, but I haven't really used it, and honestly could use the extra cash for other things. It'd be great if I could redeem for a time when I'm really searching for things.

You can use your trophy points, too. 1 month = 10 trophy points

You don't have to be Gold all the time. Let it lapse & buy gold with your points, when you need it.

Specifically - an accumulation of 100 'likes' equates to 10 trophy points (TP) - which can be used to purchase 1 month Gold status; so a ratio of 100 : 10 : 1

Additionally, when you accumulate 10K likes - you'll automatically be given 1000 TP - and then you can purchase a Lifetime Gold Membership. Thus - don't be fretting over trying to bank TP to save toward that end goal; you don't need to do that - just use the accumulated TP at your leisure.

A novelty feature of this particular site are [were?] the relative transparent Group Buys that were occurring at a somewhat regular frequency - it's a nice feature that's exclusive to membership. It's lacking of late and I'm sure these are still occurring at a sub-level via this site or others [sites] that members mutually share, resulting in less-frequent "new" shares. What may be off-putting to new members is the lack of any up-to-date info about this hiatus. This might be contributing to a glut of requests (for larger ticket items). But society as a whole and generally speaking - are quite easily frustrated nowadays . . . ;)
