Any suggestions for an online file storage?

I need to free up space on my computer. I am looking for something that won't delete files if they are deleted from my computer. I have externals but I'd like to add online for extra peace of mind (fires, etc). I would like to backup more than just photos, so those hosting sites are out. It would be a plus if backups were automatic but it wouldn't be a deal breaker if I have to manually backup. Ideally there'd be no cap on space, so I wouldn't need to pick and choose which documents are saved or have to pay for two (or more) accounts.

    Does anything like this exist?

Most affordable solution remains a NAS (Network attached storage) With that you have Redundancy, epxandable storage, speed and overall security.
One downside it's initial investment. Depending on your needs it may be aprox. 2000eur if you intend to use aprox 20 TB for example.
Cloud storage is pricey these days and free options are limited to 20 to 50GB maximum with limited data retention.
If your info is valuable to you, you may pick up a NAS as a long term solution.

I've heard that backblaze only backs up what is on your hard drive and once you delete it from your computer, they wipe it as well. Is that accurate?

Yikes, that is definitely out of my price range. I do have quite a few TB, so I wonder if this is an unattainable dream.

I haven't tried the service yet, so I have no idea, sorry. Maybe the folks from/cloudstorage or r/datahoardercould help.
