Here we have a special share for everyone...

This is VSCO Film Pack 01 - Modern Film....the original version released many, many years ago and no longer available for sale. Yes, you can search and find the original LrTemplate files but if you have a new camera, well...you're out of luck as these profiles only worked with camera profiles. Imagine those of us who paid full price only for VSCO to discontinue them with NO support.

Oh...."But I have VSCO CAM!". I hear you, but if you used the original VSCO Film Packs, you know that VSCO CAM is over-cooked. Also, aren't you tired of VSCO taking your money every month and then removing something that was available and now charging you for it? Moreover, VSCO CAM presets aren't as accurate as the original VSCO Film Packs. Don't believe me....well...let's have a look....

In the above left and right images, only the preset has been applied. The middle image is straight out of camera with no preset applied. Keep in mind, the left and right are the same preset according to VSCO...Fuji 400H. Notice how the one on the left looks overly-processed. The one on the right though, is more accurate to the film. Also...look at the skin tones! The VSCO CAM suffers from the same problem most presets suffer from these days (Mastin, Kindred, Cobalt, etc)...the skin is too pink/red. The VSCO Legacy though...spot on. This is why we need these presets.

Through much work and constant comparisons, I have made the original VSCO Film Packs useable as picture profiles. This is Film Pack 01 - Modern Films. VSCO described this pack as "clean and minimal". I agree.

Other packs, including an upgraded VSCO CAM set will be released. In the meantime, enjoy this one:

So....for those of you who never used the original VSCO...here is the key...

FILM PRESET VERSIONS
You’ll notice as you look through the presets that each
film look has several versions. The simple reason for this
is that each film cannot be narrowed down to one singular
look. Exposure, scene illumination, lab processing &
scanning, and the film’s condition can all greatly affect the
look of film, even from shot to shot on the same roll. So,
since we match the look of digital cameras to the look of
film, multiple versions arise.

“NORMAL” (NO SPECIAL SYMBOL)
Every film has a “normal” version that only has the name
of the film in its title, such as “C - Kodak Portra 400”.
These versions are the typical kind of look you’ll see
from that particular film, and they usually work as a great
starting point for each film as you’re going through the
presets.

+, ++, +++
The plus versions represent the grittier, more aggressive
looks that each film can exhibit under various conditions.
Most often these versions take on more color toning,
fading, and grain. These looks usually correspond to
underexposure and scanning variations due to nondaylight
white balance conditions at the scene.

-, --, ---
The minus presets offer a less agressive look than the
normal presets. Typically these alternates turn down
contrast, grain, and any of the boldest features of a film
look. These are perfect for those wanting a cleaner
version of the same film stock.

HC
Short for “High Contrast”, these versions give you a
bolder look that can work well for images that look too
flat, even with the normal presets. They achieve their
contrast differently than the contrast slider in the basic
panel does, giving you a useful look that’s not otherwise
attainable.

YES...a litte more complicated than VSCO CAM, but much, much more accurate.
