    The bestselling eBook is finally back. Drawing The Eye changes the way you look at your craft by teaching you how to understand and use the ways in which the eye reads a photograph in order to create more powerful images. Drawing The Eye looks at this concept of visual mass (or visual pull) both in camera and in post-processing, and then through creative exercises related to each section.

    I wrote the first edition of this downloadable PDF eBook over 10 years ago (2009) to start a discussion about making images that are more powerful because they’re made with a fuller understanding of where the eye moves in an image, and how that understanding can change the way you shoot and process your images. Visual Mass is one of the more important concepts in photography, and will make a strong difference in your composition, balance, storytelling - and most importantly: the way people read your photographs.


    This second edition is an update, re-published in 2019 to bring the book up to date with references and links. If you already own the first edition, the changes to the teaching content are not significant enough to warrant purchasing another copy.
