Thanks for bringing these lagging posts to my attention - I know these are older material but I hope some people are capable of picking up something from them . . . I think I've a liking for the older stuff . . . perhaps by association or sump'n sump'n - I don't know . . .

 

All kidding aside -
The present system allows opportunity for peeps to provide mirrors [and gain likes-for-trade] -
But the more material one posts - potentiates greater clutter and need for monitoring . . .
Thus probably creating a monumental hamster wheel for present (or new) Moderators. I asked if it possible to incorporate a bot that "tested" links from time-to-time but don't recall any definitive answer off-hand [this may possibly be an interesting future effort with AI on the uptick . . . IDK]

Your working knowledge of the forum is fantastic and anyone should feel loss if ya got a little burnt-out from chasing links.

I feel that "reported" posts for dead links should ultimately become an automated process. So too should eradicating {statement posts} indicating an OP or Mirror link has been updated - after a period of time [perhaps] - and where any associated like(s) is / are moved to the posters' total without loss {here's for hoping} . . .
