The bad news is that it's tied to the Adobe account and the license is not transferable (or at least that's what they say on the FAQ page): "The purchase of MindTheColor™ is valid for a single Photoshop account. This means that once you have purchased the license, you can use MindTheColor™ with all its full features on any device, as long as you log in with the same Photoshop account. It is important to note that the license is not transferable between different Adobe accounts."

Another weakness is that it appears to be limited to the RGB color space only (based on their own marketing material i.e. "bringing LAB control to the RGB color space"). I don't know any photographers that aren't at least using AdobeRGB or prophoto. Sure you'd export into sRGB, but you want to edit in the wider color gamut.

I don't think that's true, I saw people in demo videos doing the adjustments in AdobeRGB color space as well. For example, in this video you can see in the lower left corner that he's doing the adjustments while working in AdobeRGB and that doesn't seem to be a problem.

He's going through multiple tools in that video and all of them are working properly in AdobeRGB.

Looks like the 1998 version of AdobeRGB in 8bit. AdobeRGB seems like it could be a reasonable expectation/hope though to your point since it's not much bigger than sRGB, but I don't edit anything in AdobeRGB.

This is a first for me, are you saying edit your photos in Prophoto or AdobeRGB and then export in sRGB?

That's correct. My settings are set up so that LrC/CameraRaw pass all files to photoshop in the widest gamut possible at the highest bit depth for roundtripping. Then when I export (or soft proof for printing) I can conform the colors down. This is basically to allow for flexibility/widest color space. For exporting for the web it doesn't really matter, but if you want maximum flexibility during editing and especially if you want to reserve the ability to print, you need to use prophoto. AdobeRGB isn't as big as the printer color space in the blues/cyans. AdobeRGB also lacks real monitor colors. prophoto contains them (though it also contains way more than your monitor can handle) What's interesting is that with LrC's new true HDR editing functionality, it uses rec.2020 primaries for that, so it would be interesting to see Adobe introduce the ability to edit in rec. 2020 for Photoshop. That would be the best option for the future, but we don't have that option right now, so ProPhoto it is.

Certain styles of photography (like landscape photographers, for instance) are more likely to lend themselves toward using prophoto. For landscape editing, I want to stay as non-destructive in my edits as I can for as long as possible.

If it helps, think of video editing. You edit in a larger intermediary color space to allow maximum flexibility during editing and then encode your video in a smaller color space that the majority of devices can handle (like rec.709 - there are exceptions for HDR stuff, of course, but similar idea). It's kind of like shooting in raw vs shooting in jpeg. Sure, you're going to deliver in jpeg (which is an 8 bit files using sRGB color space), but you want to capture and edit in raw for the most latitude.

Edit to add, if you use LrC, it's color space is set to ProPhoto whether you realize it or not. But you have to enable it to pass prophoto to photoshop in the settings. If you don't ever use photoshop, then you don't really need to worry about it apart from making sure you're exporting in the right color space (sRGB, for instance for the web).

I contacted the seller, asking if there's a trial version for this app and he said that they don't have a trial version, but offered me a 25% discount. If anyone is interested in buying the app, here is the link for the 25% discount (from €129 to €96.75).

It’s great but if you have 3D Lut Creator there’s no need for it, basically copied some of its features, plus you get a lot more color models to edit with.

Yep, 3D Lut Creator has all these features, but it's a separate program. Each time I'm working on something in Photoshop and want to use some of these features I feel so dragged back by the process of opening another program, then importing the files into it, do the adjustments, then export the files back to Photoshop. Having everything inside Photoshop through a plugin like MindTheColor would be so convenient.

The grid ain't as good as 3DLC, and you can't combine the masks, I'm sure they will get implemented in a update though. The only thing I enjoy about it is the Vectorscope/Waveform/Parade.

3Dlutcreator (at least) for me it is quite slow, there is supposed to be an update "coming soon"

We are excited to announce that Evgeny Vdovin (creator of GrossGrade) and Andrey Yatsyk (creator of FilterHunt) have joined our team. Together with Oleg Sharonov (creator of 3D Lut Creator and Retouch4me) they are working on a new version of 3D Lut Creator - 2. This is going to be an absolutely new version of one of the most efficient programs for color correction in the world, not just an update of the current version. We are planning to release the new program as well as the mobile app in the coming 2023."

Runs great for me and as for the 3DLC 2.0, they been saying that for years, hoping it’s soon but I think Retouch4Me is more of a priority for them now

If you're interested in the scopes only, check the Nobe Omniscope app. That's what I'm currently using on a second monitor when working in Photoshop. It works great - very customizable and the scopes are updated in real time.
