LOOK 1
In this first look with Sophia I am going to be using a 44cm silver beauty dish, 44cm or 17″ from her face. Earlier, I conducted a test with this beauty dish at different distances and the 70cm dish as well and then we decided that she looked best with this modifier at this distance.

LOOK 2
I wanted to simulate photographing in a small room with the 70cm (27.6”), Softlite Silver Beauty Dish Reflector to see if light would bounce everywhere. I also wanted to learn how distance and the use of the grids affected the brightness of the background. After moving Sophia to a green wall set that I have in my studio, I constructed a small “room” out of two V-flats acting as walls with a large white foam board on top simulating a ceiling.




LOOK 3
For this look with Sophia I decided to create a film noir portrait using a 17″ silver beauty dish as my main light, a
standard reflector as a hair light, then a light with barn doors on the background and two indirect strips over each shoulder.



LOOK 4
For this look with Sophia I decided to light her face with a Nanlite Forza 60C with a Nanlite Forza PJ-FMM Projection Attachment with 36° Lens. Then I placed a pair of Pavo Tubes over each shoulder and I finished the look with an Elinchrome FIVE’s daylight modeling lamp with a Magenta gel on the background. The FIVE could have been replaces with a 150 or 300 wall LED. I used an 85mm lens on my Canon R5 and my exposure was 1/250 f5.6 ISO 800.
