    Hi guys

I was thinking about getting a second hand Sony A7rii (can't afford Sony a7riii) any of you guys have one or have any experience using one......Mainly wanted to know what the Focus is like on them both in stills and movie?

I have the a7riii and used to own the a7rii. The a7riii is definitely faster to focus especially in low light. And the improved resolution in the view finder is nice. I didnt shoot too much video with the a7rii so I cant speak much on the difference there but the a7riii video focusing is really good. Other than that though, the a7rii was just as solid. I like that the a7rii still has the app store whereas the new generations don't. This means that the a7rii you can set your focus on your phone remotely, the 3 doesn't do that.

i have Sony a7r2 and it is great camera but... now there is a73. a73 has better auto focus motor and batteries. if 24 megapixel not problem for you check a73, if you wont buy a7r3.

my profile photo taken with a7r2.

I would say almost all cameras built in the last 5 years are great cameras.

There will always be something a bit faster and a bit better....I really just wanted to know if the focus was solid enough working wide open on the A7rii
The 43 megapixel image appeals to me for studio work

I have both an R2 and R3. The R2 is no slouch and it can still beat many modern cameras. The R3 has better auto focus, stabilization, slightly better image rendering, and longer battery life.

For the price, it's hard to beat an R2 or A72.

Performance wise, I love my R3.

just a question to anyone with the A7iii........when shooting multiple subjects how do you set your AF....do you switch face recognition off?

¨Two choices. Either teach the camera a specific face for priority, or what I'd do is adjust aperture to have them all sharp.

Definitely need to buy grey market lens when it comes to Sony glass, I think if you dont need the megapixels the a7 III is a great camera with a auto focus system close to the Sony a9 (best action sports camera on the market). The video is also better on the a7 iii, the ideal camera for weddings.
