I get this message when trying to upload something on cyberfile.

 

I get network issues when trying upload on buzzheavier and same message as doodlebug on cyberfile. I would prefer to use sites where a registration is not required.

 

I don't have any issues with the former but confirm those issues with the latter - edited Post #22 to reflect those observations.

As stated previously - there's a shite-load of hosting sites out there amongst the International community - some of which actually pop up to harvest data under the guise of "The Cloud" - only to cave-in several months later - so caveat emptor or more appropriately "accipies quae attribuisti" - ya get what ya pay for - - - free is seldom so . . . thus the need for multi-layer pseudo-nyms as related to the likes of this forum . . .

Just tried an alternative to workupload,swisstransfer.com doesn't require registration and also 30-day

Active files remain - non-active get deleted after 30 days - registration not required.

 

I've recently been using this as well as an alternative for larger shares - but haven't tested the retention as defined . . . see Post #17 of this thread for my "test" about file retention - most of which have went long beyond the 30-day time frame . . .

 

Sounds good, I'll give hexupload a try since it can keep it beyond 30 days. Their site looks like its going through some changes though

 

I've been pretty successful with using Telegram as a host, no takedowns and stores beyond 30 days.

For me it's Google Drive hands down.
$10 a month for 2tb plus you can link 5 other Gmail accounts to it.
So I'm actually getting 10tb for the price of one.

There was a time (and I'm pretty sure some folks are still grandfathered in) where there was a loophole - if you signed up for Google workplace, you could add up to five seats and each seat would add to the pooled data instead of sharing it. Was way cheaper than signing up for the extra cloud storage directly

 

Oh, and just a clarification on pixeldrain. One of the things that makes it nice it that it retains your files for 120 days after the date of the last download. So if folks are interested in and still downloading the file the clock keeps getting reset. Just make sure to keep individual files below 5GB so that free users can use a VPN to get around the daily speed throttle (kicks in at 5 GB).
