You're joking right? Genesis is on another level over Cinedream

 

Nah man, I don't trust cinedream from day 1, since most of past Denver's tools and plugins are all clickbaits.

And for genesis, if you follow that lift gamma gain link that I have posted above, it has been shown there only. The look can easily be replicated by native tools and drts - specially jp2499. It's subjective choice, for me I need DWG to DWG workflow, I have developed my node tree around it. If Genesis is to sit at the end of the node chain as fpe and drt, there is no room for adding other tools that only support DWG and there's much difference between adding the tools before fpe node and after fpe node. Everything we add before fpe that is genesis in this case will be twisted and transformed through genesis, only option now being is to use tools that work on rec709 color space after genesis node. This leaves me no choice other than to throw away so many beloved tools, placement of node position matters in resolve. So many users have requested DWG to DWG workflow feature from genesis, a seperable grain and halation only mode on genesis also. At the end of the day it's just personal preferences, if the story is good nobody will even question the plugins and powergrades we used and we need a few hard core colorist in this forum that does grading test, rnds and what not, most of us are hobbyist, dctls, lut & powergrades collector, Gustavo advertised his powergrade and luts as magic sauce on Instagram but it turns out that it's just some random powergrade and his luts are what he have exported from filmbox or something. Some of dctls that we brought are also sourced from GitHub, repackaged them, change some naming and sell again.

 

Yes, Many are complaining about that same thing, I have Genesis and really like it a lot. But yes it is a bummer that we cannot use our own Lut's or there is not way of adding it to other grades. But the grain and halation is the best I have ever seen and I have Izigrain which is one of the best grain plugins there is.
I am no "professional" by any means and at first I did not love genesis bc I felt everything was dull and lacking saturation, but after playing with it more I am liking more and more. I hope Genesis changes that but I doubt it. And Cullen was using the DRT workflow which was obvious they incorporated it into Genesis and his Contour workflow, but the film stocks and prints cannot be "replicated" in Davinci as far as I have seen. Close maybe,

 

I have only tried FIlmBox pro for 7 days since there is no 3rd party sellers yet , and the grain is much much better in Genesis. I actually couldn't stand Cullen, he rambles and is just boring in general. not to mention always uses crappy video clips for his grades.
But I like Genesis but for quick grades always used FIlmBox 2.5 for the last 2 years. But playing with Genesis, I like it but it is not a "game changer" by any means. I would love FIlmBox pro but no luck so far. I am actually using my own powergrades with the Brim lut's and very happy with the "look" I am getting and using that for now. The new prints in Filmbox pro look pretty good and hope to get it some day .

Yeah for brim luts, are these luts outputing to HDR or compatible to HDR masters? I want to keep my workflow future proof, who knows someday we may be releasing our works on Netflix or Prime.
