Rule changes should be made more obvious

A suggestion here about updates to important things like the rules. It would be great if there were some kind of pinned/easy-to-spot announcement section. Something that alerted us to pending or recent changes to rules or policies. Or maybe a more consistent use of the forum news section.

For instance, I would have had no way of knowing that the use of workupload is no longer permitted in this group if I hadn't stumbled across it when grabbing a link to the posting guidelines to include in another post. Another example was that I was blissfully unaware a few months back when the rule changed that we were no longer using a group-wide password, so I kept unhelpfully telling people that the password was the standard group password.

It would have been great to have had some kind of notification. It doesn't need to necessarily be a full blown changelog or anything, just a simple alert or pinned post saying something like: As of such and such date, the following rule was updated for such and such reason. Here's a link to the new rule/rule page etc. The post/alert can even auto expire after a few weeks or a month or so.

I think this would help standardize the adherence to rules a bit more and also help to reinforce where the rules are for new people.
