    Hi,

    European photographer here!

So I realized I should have made this post much earlier. Been here a couple of years :)

I’m mainly interested in film like editing which is why I’ve uploaded Cl1ck Match/The Archetype Process profiles and Cobalt Image profiles.

I’d like to connect with users who are interested in film matching/editing. Which profiles do you use?

Like my signature says, I have yet to find anything better than The Archetype Process, but I’m open to other profiles. Classic Mini Lab 2026 profiles are pretty good too.

    Love this forum!

Cobalt are my favorite presets of choice.

I think The Archetype Process is better. I can't get the same skin tones or Fuji greens on Cobalt :/ Which Cobalt profiles are you using?

I'll try an assortment of them, but one of my favorites is from Fuji X-Pro2 - Provia

Sometimes the Cobalt b&w ones are good too, otherwise I go to Nik SilverEfex.

Recently, I came across a project that tries to "physically",that is, use physics, in order to simulate film. I'm not sure about links policy on this forum, but you can google "Spectral film simulations in ART" and click the discuss pixel link (first link that shows up). Quite a fascinating project and I've had decent sucess with it. Although, if I want something quick without any hassle that looks pleasing, I use Cobalt or TAP profiles.

For the spectral film simulation, I use it in a program called vkdt (vulkan darktable)

I'll look further into TAP and give it a try. I have the files from here.

Does it work similar and use specific camera profiles like Cobalt? It took me a while to figure out how Cobalt worked and shows the presets under Profile Browser.

No camera specific profile from v1 to v6. v7 has camera specific profiles and they’re all included in the packs here

Do they show up in the Lightroom Presets panel or the Profile Browser like Cobalt?

In the profile browser but you can just create a preset with your favourite film profiles for easier access

Thanks! I'm going to experiment with them today. All the Yellow Green packs have me confused, but I'll sort it out. Also, there were some vimeo videos posted with installation and use instructions - I'll watch those.

Hello, I'm glad to have friends here who share the same interest in film-style editing. I've also been researching and experimenting with film emulation for about 2 years now. I shoot, develop, print, and scan, and then try to match the digital files, and I've achieved some certain results.
What genre of photography are you shooting? I see that TAP seems quite useful for wedding photographers; their greens look pretty good.

Thank you, they have some quite interesting technical information that's worth experimenting with.
