You cannot just update from Filmverse Sync bc that is the newer system that needs a perpetual license or subscription. The person who bought this needs to get the DCTL version update of 2.1 , Not the Filmverse Sync which will obviously NOT work bc you did not purchase it . I have the Newest version from a "3rd" party dealer and works fine but it is now part of Arsenal I am pretty sure. I want this version DCTL to maybe use on another computer. Bc my other is a 1 computer paid version of the latest version done through FIlmSYnc if that makes sense.
Basically you cannot just updated it yourself and hope it is going to work. @h1ghm1nd needs to get the DCTL that inside has another expired date set that should last for 6-9 months again but will expire eventually as well. That is how it works.
Or maybe filmverse forces the person who purchased the DCTL older style dctl to change to the newer film sync version.
