How to download/record streaming content

    Hello everybody, I was trying to download/record some content to share, but my attempt was not successful.

    Does anyone have a solution to get content from sites if there is no download option, but streaming only?

    I have tried to make screen captures on a Mac with programs such as Screenflow and Camtasia, but what happens is that the audio will be out of sync after a while. I thought this was easily corrected, however it was to much hassle since its out of sync on multiple timeframes.

    I have also tried downloading the video through extensions and browser script, but it seams that the files are not "pre downloaded" as a single video, but more shattered pieces, so it is really secure and not possible to get them either.

    Any suggestions?

    You could try with Video Download Helper or IDM extension for Firefox or use Allavsoft Video Downloader Converter for windows.

    Screen recording is a very bad practice because it produces audio/video sync issues/ frame drops/ requires one to watch the whole video.
    Besides materials shared through this method are not accepted because of these issues.
    The recommended way is to use a stream grabber.
    I can recommend Replay Media Catcher.
    Download here:
    Hidden Content:
    **Hidden Content: You must click 'Like' before you can see the hidden data contained here.**
    To patch it run replay.media.catcher.7.0.0.8-MPT and click on the head in the left side. Done.
    After that, just turn on the Auto button from the top left and then start your movie and then pause it.
    The stream will be detected and you can download it in RMC.
    If there are multiple streams you can choose which one to download (1920x1080, 1280x720, etc.).
    If your stream is not detected you can try to use another browser.
    If you still have problems, let me know as some sites can be tricky and you need to use another tool.

    Of course. Actually it works on all sites, except very few (and chances are that you will not encounter them).

    I right click the video and click open video in new tab or something so that way its just the videos URL. Then I'll paste the URL into a program that can download the video from the URL.

    Sophos antivirus didn't let me to unzip it to start with. Even when I allowed it, still it spit the dummy.
    Eventually I was able to unzip the patch, but it won't let me run it. I've decided for the sake of the argument to delete it after all.
    I've been using IDM for long time now 'n it works well.

    For PC (I have mac and pc and I tried several programs mentioned here and the only one that worked for me (I saw it in another forum) was TUBEDIGGER

    The good, works almost for every page (Crehana, Domestika, are the most difficult for record tuts)
    The bad, cost $25 but I think it's worth the money.
