GB suggestions

Sorry, I've got confused patreon thing, I thought we're already having auctions in here. My apologies.

As I could tell, GB is always highlighted on ORANGE category that's the only means that it's needed to be accomplished at, depending if the tutorial is in demand. And it is alwasy on the top of the Request Section. Because, sometimes there are GB that takes ages to be completed. In due to people, are not interested at that point or doesn't have money at that time when the GB was started. And there are times, in just one week there are GBs are fulfilled because all of the participant agrees on the right price. And sometimes, it depends who initiates the GB. And mostly making GB do takes time to be approved.

 

I think it would mutually serve the interested individuals to promote timely closure to GBs as well to admin to produce probable additional income to help fund operating costs.

I'll come here to peruse what's new and the next thing I know an hour or so has passed . . . time-suck . . .

 

I think that this could be an easy solution. I used to be a member of a site that promoted self-improvement GBs (stuff like business, NLP, etc) and they had time-restricted GBs and the participation was higher I think due to the limited availability of time to fill slots.

So if it's a $200 course, we need 10 people to get $20 spots. But we'd need 40 to get $10 spots. The only reason I even found the GB I'm trying to get into now was because I saw it at the bottom of a post in the "Similar Threads" section. Sometimes people are bumping year-old and two-year-old threads that may obfuscate GB threads.

Edit: Also if some people have the site bookmarked and they only come here for, say, LR presets, they may not venture outside of that to even see the GB.

We should have a GB requests forum, and if there's enough interest in x amount of time, then we should move it to an "Active GB" forum. Cause right now they're mixed in with people who want free stuff.

Yeah why not, a section dedication only for Group Buy / GB. Not bad, a very promising resolution.

 

Love the idea! I'm thinking about how it would help automatically setting up a poll when a "Request" prefix is set instead of responding with stuff like "+1" or "count me in" etc. Would help to directly clarify who is interested in this and who wants to join a GB @h1ghm1nd @george? Let's make the forum do all the math for us

There might be a field for typing in the price and when the price is higher than 200 € it automatically adds a "I'm in for a GoupBuy" response to the poll.

 

May even be able to automatically add / build (and display) list in real-time to benefit the admins to expediting a GB and processing of final payment and filling [this may be occurring at some level on the back-end already] . . .

I disagree entirely, cause I know this would lead to more unused/rarely ever used sections.
Besides, if I really need it and can't afford it I'll check what is affordable and purchase that.

A lot of the content that you're enjoying as a gold member are from these group buys, just six months later. I don't see how your point of view even makes sense. We're talking about a system that's already in place, we'd just like some more transparency and visibility with the process.

 

Hi @Thunder - I'm not sure that I'm following your logic warranting total disagreement. The goal is to bring to the forefront GB for visibility in an easier manner / process than what's presently transpiring. I agree in the sense of purchasing (or in the exclusivity-rule as currently transpiring - waiting for the contents to go public; assuming the site will be here in 1-6 months). This transparency should in no manner dissuade anyone from "visiting" and thus increasing "unused" sections - - - my interests are mine alone - - -

The "pinning" process is a step in a positive direction but can (and should; as part of an evolutionary process) be improved rather easily - and would lend benefit to all interested parties (organizers, admins, interested members) . . .

 

Of course I support it. BUT look at the attitude by individuals.

I'll be throwing odd opinions here 'n there! If we have mutual respect then the idea would be explained without attacking or ridiculing the other person. Presumably we are all adults!
