    Hey guys :)

I created a Color Profile with the X-Rite ColorChecker Passport for the Sony a7 M3.
With this you are able to get accurate color from your Sony Alpha camera in Lightroom.

    81fxp27QIfL._AC_SL1500_.jpg

I compared the Color with the DVLOP Profiles and my Profile looks much more accurate. So maybe this helps you out with Skin-Tones and Product color ;)

You should also know that i created this profile outdoors.
I`m not a indoor Photographer, so maybe the colors shift a little, but i don`t think so.

Try it out and have a look if it works for you.

    How to:

    1. Download the file
    2. Insert the File into this Folder.
Library -> Application Support -> Adobe -> CameraRAW -> CameraProfiles
    3. Later you have to start again Lightroom and choose the Profile "Sony A7III" - finish.
    4. Tell me how it works for you :)

@cocexperte1 that's fantastic! I'm not a A7III-user but I like to possibilities of creating own profiles.

I'd love to hear how you did that. Do you need lots of coding experience?

For example VSCO is out of business now and I really enjoy their presets. On the day I go for a new camera these presets are no longer available for me...

    You`re welcome

Hmm it`s not about a Brand, it`s about accuracy. Even with a Canon Camera you can`t achieve this accuracy out of cam without the ColorChecker Passport. So i think it`s better than the "Canon Color" :))

No coding required. You have to buy the X-Rite ColorChecker Passport. Then you take a picture of the Passport with your Brand Camera and run the X-Rite Software. This will create a 1:1 Color Profile.

When you use this, you can achieve the same Color in every Camera. So for example if you use a Sony and a Canon as a second camera. This workflow will match this two cameras with true colors.

Very interesting. Do you know if you can also create this for HLG/HLG2/HLG3 (for video shooting)?

Can it also be done for the remaining color profiles such as slog2, slog 3 ect?

This is possible, but you need the X-Rite ColorChecker Video Card, i only use the one for Photo :)
They are quite expensive -145 €
Maybe i will get one soon and create some profiles for you guys.

I don't think you necessarily need the video card. Just need to figure out a way to create a proper LUT for the colours. Also depends on the White Balance, etc since those are baked in for videos

Hmm i`m not sure about this.
The Video Card is build differently and i think got also some different colors - especially in skin-tones.

If you find a good tutorial video how it works with the Photo Passport, i can try it.

About your issue with colorchecker photo/video, the color grading is done by using a still or just a frame so you can still use it fine ;)

Also beware that to obtain consistent results regarding color correction (which is objective)* you should frame the colorochecker in your the shot, one time per lights setup**) because the whole point is that cameras can shift their colors due to passing of time or exposure.

    * and should be required for commercial shooting

    Hi. Thanks for the share.
These are taken with Flash or Natural Light.

    Outdoor-Natural Light
I think they will also work even if you use a flash in your photography.
