Hey @neelin22 - to be clear, the issue here is not that you aren't GOLD, it's that you are thread hijacking here, as lkngood pointed out. Even GOLD members aren't allowed to hijack threads with requests for other products. All requests get funneled to one of the 3 request sections, either Photo, Video, or Audio - if you're not GOLD, the button to initiate a request simply won't show up so you'll be unable to make a request. However, even if you're not a GOLD member, you can add your support to someone else's already existing request by adding a comment in their thread, you just won't be able to initiate your own request until you're a GOLD member. Attempting to bypass the request section and place requests in other threads is the rule violation in this case. I recognize enforcement on this in the past has been a bit hit and miss (to put it mildly - this is probably the most flagrantly violated rule throughout the forum and it isn't always caught), and you may not have remembered this rule because you seen other more experienced members do it, so I've issued you a warning with zero points for now just to make sure you're aware. If it does happen again in the future, though, we'll start including points with the warnings. A buildup of points can result in your account becoming restricted for a period of time (usually a couple weeks to a month depending on when your unique combination of points are set to individually expire), in which case you won't be able to like things and download the goodies.
I've done that probably quite a bit in the past, unaware that I was breaking the rules, but now I know and also will not be doing it from here on out. Thank you!
No worries! And since you now have a shiny, new Gold member badge, you can make requests in the request sections to your heart's content.
