Iam in between a7iii a7riii. I shoot mostly landscapes and portraits. I do love taking milky way pics and i believe a7iii its not really good in that. Does the extra cost of a7riii really worth it?

In your case.........shooting landscapes rather than people......the ability to focus accurately and very quickly really isn't an issue for you.....I love the bigger file sizes that the Sony A7R series provides and its something I would want in your line of photography.

Here are some of the pros and cons of each body:

    A7R III:
    -Better LCD quality
    -Better EVF quality
-Comes with external battery Charger the A7 III does not
    -42.5MP
    -Apparently slightly better weather sealing
-Better build quality (back plate protection in the body)
-3 custom user settings on the dial vs 2 on A7 III
-500K shutter life vs 200K on A7 III

    A7 III:
    -Cheaper
    -Better video quality
    -Better Auto focus system
-1 stop of light better low light/noise performance (cleaner images)

I personally opted for the A7R III due to the pros given on the list, most importantly I use primes and having the ability to crop with sharp primes that can make use of the 42MP made me jump up to the a7r III.
