Unfortunately, it doesn't work. I replaced the files, but it still asks for a license. Unless I did something wrong. But when uploading such a program, step-by-step instructions would be helpful.
Like @Rafael79 said can you provide step-by-step instructions? Because just saying it works, doesn't help much
So, can you describe step by step what needs to be done? Maybe I've replaced the files in the wrong place? By the way, the second link (Installer) doesn't work, so I installed the Alternative Installer from the third link.
Same problem here. Installed, replaced the files (in two places where the originals were), and when launching asks for the licence code.
Are you replacing the files that are supplied? I will check later but you need to replace the files... They should be in here I think. /Library/Application Support/GenArts/rlm /BorisFX/Optics 2024/Optics.app/Contents/MacOS /BorisFX/Optics 2024/Optics.app/Contents/PlugIns/Sapphire
Hi, Exactly as you wrote, the two files were copied to the locations below: /BorisFX/Optics 2024/Optics.app/Contents/MacOS /BorisFX/Optics 2024/Optics.app/Contents/PlugIns/Sapphire Additionally, I copied the third file to the directory: '/Applications/BorisFX/Optics 2025/Optics.app/Contents/PlugIns/Continuum/Lib/BCCOFX/BCC Common 64 OFX.dylib' However, I have no idea what you think should be copied here: /Library/Application Support/GenArts/rlm That would be great, and I'd be very grateful if you could check if all the required files are available for download and if they're copied to the locations you indicated. Perhaps you could describe exactly which files are where. It would make things much easier and solve the problem quickly. You could also attach confirmation that the program is working, because unfortunately, despite copying everything, it still asks for activation.
I put all three "cracked" files into all three provided "target destinations". Still asks for the license code... any ideas?
I installed Optics using the alternative installer. Missing Directories The following directories are not present on my system: /BorisFX/Optics 2024/Optics.app/Contents/MacOS /BorisFX/Optics 2024/Optics.app/Contents/PlugIns/Sapphire Current Installation The only Optics-related directory I have is: /BorisFX/Optics 2025/ Contents of this directory: Deactivate Optics License Optics Uninstall Optics.pkg UserGuide.pdf WhatsNew.pdf Optics.plugin
Control + click on "Optics.app" in the app folder and choose "show package contents". If you have installed the app correctly, the directories must be there.
@Egils Thanks for the info Does it work for you now or still asking for the license code? @Snook I've replaced the files that are supplied /Library/Application Support/GenArts/rlm /BorisFX/Optics 2025/Optics.app/Contents/MacOS /BorisFX/Optics 2025/Optics.app/Contents/PlugIns/Sapphire But still asks for Activate nodelocked license
try replacing "Optics/Sapphire.dylib" I can confirm that works fine in version 2024, you do need to replace the "Sapphire.dylib" in: /Applications/BorisFX/Optics\ 2024/Optics.app/Contents/PlugIns/Sapphire/Sapphire.dylib DO you have SIP on or OFF by the way?
For some reason, I'm having trouble getting it to work. Files are replaced (did it twice to be sure) exactly as @Snook suggested. When launching the app, it opens a window named "license" with two options available: Activate nodelocked licence and Request a trial. The SIP is on. Do I have to disable it?
I already had replaced the "Sapphire.dylib" in: /Applications/BorisFX/Optics\ 2024/Optics.app/Contents/PlugIns/Sapphire/Sapphire.dylib SIP is on
Will try with SIP disabled, only that I can't restart my Mac to recovery mode to disable SIP as it is busy rendering for about 40h from now. Have to wait. @Observer - could you try to launch the app with SIP off to see if it helps?
Could it be that the "Alternative installer" is somehow different? Different build version? Maybe that is the problem?
