Daily like limit

    We can have a system where like button is disabled, when there is no HIDE/GOLD link. It should greatly reduce system abuse for likes.

    Another thing I observed is that people hide links of free content (like Youtube, official site etc). We can add a check for that as well.

    This is a better idea imo.. Please give it a try....

    Also when a mirror is posted, we need to respect the Original Post too. So, 2 likes are required in such cases..

    If you know that some members are abusing the system, presumably you are able to detect who they are, so why not just limit them and not tar all users with the same brush? It seems very heavy handed, to me.

    Since we are getting many new members we cannot detect abusers fast enough.
    The limits were thought to address most of the users and regular forum use.

    This has now been modified. The new limit is stated in the FAQ in the Help section.

    It took me a while to get above 200 likes to overcome that limit and now I have to keep trying again. :(
