Here you need to put the license file if you have not had it cracked in an earlier version I actually have a paid studio version for the last 10 years but am sharing for people who do not you need to install the license file too, into /Library/Application Support/Blackmagic Design/DaVinci Resolve into the hidden folder ./license here's the license file Hidden Content: **Hidden Content: You must click 'Like' before you can see the hidden data contained here.**
@Snook Am I mistaken in that the files go into: Resolve: /Applications/DaVinci Resolve/DaVinci Resolve.app/Contents/MacOS/ libfusionsystem.dylib: /Applications/DaVinci Resolve/DaVinci Resolve.app/Contents/Libraries/Fusion/ blackmagic.lic: /Applications/DaVinci Resolve/DaVinci Resolve.app/Contents/Resources/.:license/ For me the license file was the most confusing because I couldn't find that ./license when I pressed Command + Shift + . (period) to reveal hidden files and folders. So I asked ChatGPT and it said that it was normally found in the Contents/Resources folder. I've been using the previous version of Resolve 18 for a while now with no issues so I just created the folder and put the license in there. Now, with or without the license folder, Resolve 19 doesn't open. It just crashes on load.
IF you had the Studio version that was with a patch, that license file was already in your folders and was not needed. Did you try my first link? first? The second link was only for people that did not have a previous patch in which the file was not anywhere on their computer at all. Were you using the free version of DaVinci Resolve prior to this one??? Or Studio already patched? Makes a Big difference. Not sure why you needed to do anything extra or decided to make your own folders with ChatGPT? As you can see the poster above you had no problems... The fusion files were only needed if you decided to install the independent Fusion App.... And no the DR studio which already has fusion incorporated in it.. Hope that makes sense. I would erase everything and try again with a fresh install if I was you. If I find any similar problems like your from the forum where I got this, I will let you know, but it sounds like you decided to do your steps that were not in my files. PS. Nobody has reported any problems like yours and it was pretty easy Install all the files from my first post if you already had a previous version Patched (Studio) version. If not, you needed to install the license file in my second post. Nothing extra was or is needed, Apparently. Let me know and I will try to help you if I can.
I downloaded 19 from the official website and used two links, but it still prompted me to enter an activation code. Did I do something wrong?
Can your respond back if you got it working OK? I and others would appreciate it. Like I said I have a Paid Version but was just trying to share it here. Most have got it working just fine but one person DMed me saying they had "problems" most likely due to their mistake. Thanks!! Read my process clearly. **** If you had a previous patched version there is no need for my second post. It should work with the supplied files. If you never had a patched version you need to place the file from my second post in the corresponding folder.
I downloaded 19.0 BETA 5 and then used the first link file shared here to place them in the corresponding folders. It was great and it finally worked.
Thanks @Snook ! Will give this a try after my job projects ended. Scared I might mess up the system/ project files. haha
