Gold Dehancer Film 2.3.3 for Photoshop [U2B macOS][bloppo]

crashes when i try to use it on my m1 mac

 

same ... crash on M2 pro

 

Install only Photoshop plugin. You both seem to have permissions issues. I dont have any problem. Nor bloppo. Try to run the plugin unpatched and check if it crashes. If it does, isnt the patch fult.


Seems to be a permission issue, i've tried this and it wotks: copy Dehancer.plugin to desktop, perform codesign, dequarantine and chmod +x, copy back patched Dehancer.plugin and overwrite unpatched version. SIP and Gatekeeper are enabled

Do as Ive written above. Plugin location is /Library/Application Support/Adobe/Plug-Ins/CC/Dehancer/Dehancer.plugin

Right path for dehancer.plugin for chmod +x and codesign in and de-quarantinization is shown by show package contents over
/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Plug-Ins/CC/Dehancer/Dehancer.plugin/Contents/MacOS/Dehancer
If permissions are good the binary should be black not white.

so it should be done like this:

after patching the binary do the codesign and de-quarantination by using

sudo chmod +x /Library/Application Support/Adobe/Plug-Ins/CC/Dehancer/Dehancer.plugin/Contents/MacOS/Dehancer
sudo xattr -cr /Library/Application Support/Adobe/Plug-Ins/CC/Dehancer/Dehancer.plugin/Contents/MacOS/Dehancer
sudo codesign --force --sign - /Library/Application Support/Adobe/Plug-Ins/CC/Dehancer/Dehancer.plugin/Contents/MacOS/Dehancer

 

Crashes for me as well M1 and grenice is just copy pasting text from another site and most likely has not even tried the plugin...

What system do you have? Intel or M1, what OS and what version of photoshop? Because so far it seems mostly Silicon users are having the problem. I could not even get the real trial version to work after it crashes my photoshop. Just to check I download the trial version with out running the script and still crashes. So most likely not the script causing the problem.

I see you are using Beta photoshop, but what OS? and Intel or Silicon?

 

I already told that not the script causes the problem. Its the app that may need permission fix, de-quarantination and codesigning, look above the post, its everything there.

M1 Mac Mini, Ventura 13.4.1, Photoshop 24.7 Beta.

 

Thanks, Will try it again but Even when I uninstall everything and try to install the trial with out running the script or anything, Photoshop crashes..
The Plugin should work in trial mode and watermark with out running the script but it does not,

A safe mode boot might solve the issue you encounter. Safe mode boot then, cold normal boot.
Also add Terminal as developer tool by

sudo spctl developer-mode enable-terminal

 

I have: MacBook Air M1 2020 (16GB) running Ventura 13.4.1

I definitely think it's the Dehancer app. I used the guide from Dehancer to remove all of Dehancer from my Mac.

1. Deactivate the plugin (use ‘License Info’ button in the plugin Settings, then press ‘Deactivate’).
2. Go to /Library/Application Support/Adobe/Plug-Ins/CC/Dehancer/ directory on your Mac.
3. Run the maintenancetool.app application.
4. Choose Remove All Components, click Continue and follow uninstall steps.

Then I re-ran the demo from the Dehancer website and opened PhotoShop. When I try and use Dehancer, it crashes. I think version 2.3.3 from Dehancer is bad for Silicon Macs.

I would like to try a previous version of Dehancer and see if that works.

 

Update 1:

After trying the last 4 versions of Dehancer, found here (https://update.dehancer.com/downloads/macos/pslr/legacy/), and ALL of them crashing, I think there may be a bigger problem than Dehancer.

 

Codesign Like this:
sudo codesign --force --deep --sign - /Library/Application\ Support/Adobe/Plug-Ins/CC/Dehancer/Dehancer.plugin

Also, if needed:
sudo chmod +x /Library/Application\ Support/Adobe/Plug-Ins/CC/Dehancer/Dehancer.plugin

 

Me too, I tried several and in trial mode and all of them crash my 3 versions of photoshop. I wrote a mail to Dehancer but am pretty sure they will not respond. I have tried all suggestions, erased all Dehancer and reinstall several versions and same thing. What is weird, is there are some with pretty much the same set up as me, M1 Monterey etc etc and the get it to work and some do not...
Oh well.
PS> I have a feeling it may be which version of photoshop and how we "fixed" it whether it be sices newer versions or TNT older versions. I had several of my older versions of photoshop stop working and Lightroom as well after trying his versions and could never gt them to work again.. So I have a feeling it may be that or which way of "fixing" photoshop we used is some how crashing with this plug in.

 

Its a codesign issue. Codesign and chmod and you’re good to go.

Also xcode Commandline Tools might need to be updated:

xcode-select --install

Just so that I'm clear, here are all of the steps I'm doing (it's still not working).

1. Remove all traces of Dehancer on my Mac using the steps from Dehancer.
   
2. Install DehancerPhotoshopInstaller_arm64_v2_3_3 since I have an M1 MacBook Air.
3. Run the code under For ARM64 Mac.
4. Codesign Like this: sudo codesign --force --deep --sign - /Library/Application\ Support/Adobe/Plug-Ins/CC/Dehancer/Dehancer.plugin
5. sudo chmod +x /Library/Application\ Support/Adobe/Plug-Ins/CC/Dehancer/Dehancer.plugin
6. Then launch PS and choose Filter > Dehancer > Dehancer Film...

If you'd like, I'd even be willing to do a screen recording and send it to you to show you what I mean.

I actually pay for the monthly Adobe Creative Cloud subscription (LR & PS) and still have the issue.
