Does anyone here do traditional painting? Or want to learn how to draw or paint? I have been wanting to expand my photography skills into these classical/traditonal area. Do you think we should have a section for painting tutorials? From learning how to use Corel Painter to actually paint with oil or draw with a pencil. EDIT: I asked admin and he said "I will watch this thread see how many replies it gets" So guys, if you want this then speak up. Dont just like
Beautiful idea! For I am actually still developing my photography skills and have a lot to learn, I think it gives a deeper understanding for color and light from a different perspective. As Adam Marelli says in his first cours: "Photography is a subtractive process and painting is an additive process." I think you can find his courses here: https://p-v.club/threads/adam-marel...f-seeing-figure-to-ground-finding-light.4495/ I absolutely agree with @mattheyj, it's an mind-opening lesson!
Second that, Adam is a great teacher! For the past 5 months or so I have been focusing more on painting tutorials and for the most part I think I have learned much more from them than the majority of advanced photo tutorials I've seen!
My color theory and composition aproach actually come from art, not photography and for me that gives me a deeper understanding on my photography. Stop using rule of third and study gestalt principles, now
