Filmbox LUT enhances your footage with subtle effects, similar to Filmbox itself. The look and feel of film are important artistic elements. Moving away from traditional photochemical imaging doesn't mean losing aesthetic quality. Note that this is the version without the plugin. This version includes 18 LUTs (Look-Up Tables) from the official Filmbox package, which are easy to use. They actually work okay. Only thing that cant be replicated (besides halation and grain) is the same nice saturation that Filmbox gives through the vibrance slider.
Just tried them and they seem pretty good. Nothing amazing but no LUT's are amazing really LOL. , Saturation and Halation can be added no problem with other plug ins or even inside Davinci itself.. Although Filmbox seems "cool" I think it is highly over rated and over priced. Unless you are doing hard core color grading for some major film or movie, I do not think most people will notice much of a difference if you know how to color grade properly. And most color grade "professionals" are doing everything manually not using plugins. Thanks for the Lut's by the way.
hey guys, anyone who got them can tell me what neg / print combo they utilize ? Is it the basic 250D + 2383 Full combo from Filmbox or anything else ? cheers
I found that the LUT of this product was not so good after using it before, and I felt a little disappointed.
Maybe up to each personal taste but yeah to me it definitely needs a couple of adjustment before putting into use
Thanks mate appreciate it, it's mostly to try some reverse LUT engineering but the 250D 2383 combo is quite easy to find out there and not really worth it for me
Once the 2383 Print is at the end of the node pipeline, pretty much you can achieve various looks with the LGG and RGX Mixer
Actually there is a few extra things missing using these luts besides halation, grain and saturation slider. The plugin is working under ACES which gives a much nicer highlight and shadow rollof, also i think they've implemented some of Scatter plugin characteristics to highlights, so it blooms in a very natural way (not halation). Give it a try and compare against Filmbox Trial. There's more to this emulation then we know, that's why is so good.
