Getting started at P-V Club

I'm over 40 and living in the US. While I'm not a photographer, I have a deep appreciation for detailed and breathtaking digital photographs. It can be frustrating to find high-quality images online. In so many words, I appreciate art on an emotional level.

I’m thinking of getting a camera to start capturing the world myself. My brother, his wife, and my nephew work in the movie making industry. They have access to all kinds of equipment. I might be able to borrow/rent something. I've wanted something for many years. Maybe if I roam e-bay, get something broken, and fix it myself...

I’m particularly interested in 8K video, VR, and 3D. I’ve been proficient with Adobe Photoshop since version 2.0 and also with Adobe Illustrator. I am a programmer and can build apps and design sites. I have a passion for astrophotography, though it’s an expensive hobby, and I’m still saving up for it.

I discovered P-V Club while looking for a like-minded community over a year ago, but the enrollment period was closed at the time. Fortunately, I got lucky and joined today!

I am always working on a project, but I'll try to check in from time to time. Thanks for having me.
