Having someone to inspire you or seek references from is important for development in the field of art. Photography is no different: great contemporary photographers have done exactly this: they modeled themselves on photographers of the past, such as the Frenchman Henri Cartier-Bresson, one of the most cited. To help in the cultural development of Brazilian photographers, Editora Europa is launching Portfólio Fotografe, a bookzine series (a mix of magazine and book) featuring the work of great names in contemporary Brazilian photography. Portfólio Fotografe will also include a biographical profile of the photographer in each volume and a ping-pong-style interview (question and answer) with ten questions about the author's background, career, references, and work—there will be 50 images, on average, per volume.
