Hi! I saw some people offering video subtitles from Russian to English. I would like to know what the process is for translating the video, where I have to upload it, and how do I generate and sync the translation? Thank you!
I use youtube-method for get my subtitles fro Rus to Eng: First I recode video in HandBrake with resize to 640x360 to get smaller file for less time upload. Next I upload video to youtube with "private link" option. After 1-5 hours (depend on video) youtube autocreate subtitles. I got link to my video and put it on site http://downsub.com so I can download my subtitles. After that video on youtube you can delete. Then I edit subtitles text if needed and upload it to http://www.syedgakbar.com/projects/dst where it translates to english.
you can download the sub straight from youtube but the Timing synchronization will be off. I highly suggest to do what Arelin said.... use downsub.com Only time I download the sub straight from youtube is when there is copyright music in the video and youtube add an advertisement to the beginning which will fail at downsub.com
if you are low with resources or bandwidth in general you can use ffmpeg to extract audio, then combine a blank image+audio to mp4 and upload MP4 file to youtube. Code: https://gist.github.com/protrolium/e0dbd4bb0f1a396fcb55
