To save you time and improve your skills, this tutorial was created. In which the main techniques of art processing are described and shown step by step and in great detail.

The work was done in Photoshop CC 19.1.0, and third-party plugins Alien Skin Exposure, Portraiture, Color Efex Pro, Topaz were used during processing (but you can do without the last 2)

First part:

- despite the fact that we have an image only in JPG format, we will still use Cam Raw to pre-correct and prepare the photo for artistic retouching

- let's go to the "Plastic" filter, and only slightly correct some details of the face. Here you will learn how the wrinkle tool works, and in what cases it is applicable.

RETOUCH:

- technical retouching

- slightly smooth out obvious folds and roughness of the skin, applying the most suitable method in these cases "Frequency Decomposition"

- smooth out the folds of clothes

- Let's continue retouching the face. Apply plug-ins Portraiture

Let's work with interior details in the photo:

- remove unwanted colors

- working on the details - drawing highlights on objects

- turn on the "helper window", which will help make the drawing better and more natural

- large-scale work on drawing the details of the image (we draw on empty layers using different blending modes)

- another way to refine the image - drawing on the "Grey layer"

In addition to the details, we also draw a light / shadow pattern - increasing the volume

- we will show and designate the eyes (we will finish the invisible details)



The second part:



- Applying adjustment layers and blending modes, slightly lighten the photo. Add warm tones by first removing the purple from the skin

- plug-ins Topaz - increase the volume and detail of the image

- an interesting way to use cor. layer "Search for color" - add atmosphere and more volume to the image

- we will carry out the main color correction and toning in plug-ins Alien Skin Exposure

- enhance the realism of the picture - add light from candles to the model

- using the plug-ins Color Efex Pro - enhance the feeling of the evening atmosphere. The use of plug-ins is not necessary, the lesson shows another way, in which only Photoshop tools are involved.

- textures will add artistry to the image. And even more texture will show the details in the background. Correcting the shade of the texture

- small correction in tone and color

- add effects: evening haze, and the effect of a blown out candle
