Follow this thread (click the "Watch" link at the upper right of this thread) to receive updates about important, high-level rule changes. Note that this does not track every small change to the language of the rules, which are often just edits for clarity. You should still reference the rules for specifics: https://p-v.club/forums/rules.5/

Rule Updates in reverse chronological order:

    - July 16, 2026 - Changes to spam rules
    • Bumping threads more than once per day (24h) will be considered spam.

    - June 10, 2026 - Changes to incomplete and low value/ low quality rules, sharing files from third party sites, and approved/prohibited file hosts

    • Incomplete or lower quality content can now be posted but only if the content is valuable or rare (i.e. not available to be purchased anymore) and it will be deleted once a complete or higher quality version is posted by someone else. Incomplete items should be marked as [Incomplete] at the end of the thread title. The minimum desired video resolution is still defined as 720p. Note that while this rule update allows for the posting of incomplete or low-quality items, know that you do so at your own risk. If someone else creates a thread with a complete or higher quality version, yours will be deleted and you'll lose those likes.
    • Content from other warez and third-party/ reseller sites has historically been prohibited. Now, content from other websites can be posted (it's still discouraged, though - high quality, original content helps keep p-v.club unique). Content from other sites will only be accepted if the content is not watermarked (extra files in the archive, video watermarks, etc.), only if the download links are not copy/pasted from another source (i.e. the OP must post it using his/her own host links), and only if the source website is disclosed in the post. Otherwise, it will be deleted.
    • The prohibition against using Workupload that was introduced on October 9, 2024 has been clarified to mean that any host that only retains files for 30 days or less is prohibited. This is intended to address the widespread problem of quickly expiring links and user frustration at the high number of dead links throughout the forum.

    - January 14, 2026 - Clarification to rule regarding sharing of Gold content with non-Gold members
    • Rule clarified to explicitly state that non-Gold members requesting Gold content from Gold members is a rule violation. Previously, this has always been implied but not explicitly stated.

    - June 22, 2025 - Clarification on who can run Group Buys
    • There had previously been some discrepancy between different sections of the rules as to who could run group buys besides the Admins. In some areas it was listed as Trusted members and Moderators, and in others it was listed as Lifetime Gold members and Moderators. The Group Buys post in the rules section was cleaned up to align and clarify that it was supposed to be Moderators and Trusted members (members with the blue Trusted badge) who could run group buys.

    - May 1, 2025 - Updates to how software is posted and update to curb "like farming"
    • New rule introduced which specifies that software updates now get posted to the same thread and describes how it should be done
    • New rule introduced which specifies that updates to one's own posts must be done by editing the original post, not creating a new post

    - February 17, 2025 - Updates to the posting of mirrors
    • relaxed the rules about when a mirror must be posted as Gold: Previously, a mirror always had to be posted as Gold if the OP was Gold. Now, if the original poster is banned OR if the OP is over a year old and no mirrors have been added since then, the user who wishes to post a mirror may choose whether or not to post the mirror as Gold. Users can request that the title prefix be changed, if necessary, by submitting a report to moderators using the report feature.

    - October 13, 2024 - Replying to moderators
    • New rule introduced which specifies that replying to messages from moderators is not optional

    - October 9, 2024 - Approved/disapproved host updates
    • Due to widespread file retention problems throughout the group, Workupload removed from the approved host list and added to the "blacklist."

    - July 27, 2023 - Low video resolution addressed
    • New rule introduced which specifies that the minimum acceptable video resolution is 720p

    - May 23, 2023 - Thread hijacking prohibition
    • New rule introduced which prohibits thread hijacking. While spammy, unrelated posts in threads had always been prohibited, this rule was specifically created to address the prevalence of requests for other products by the same creator or other versions of products (Mac vs. Windows, for instance) that were derailing threads or attempting to get around the established request system.

June 10, 2026 - Changes were made to the way that incomplete and low value/quality posts will be handled. Changes were also made to the rules about content from other sites. OP updated to reflect the changes.

OP updated to include new language that I missed previously during the rollout of the June 10, 2026 changes: The prohibition against using workupload has been clarified to mean that any host that only retains files for 30 days or less is prohibited. Some current examples of hosts that are currently being used and fall under this rule are swisstransfer, buzzheavier, gofile, send.now, limewire.com/file.io and akirabox.

July 16, 2026 - Admins added a new rule to address thread bumping abuse: bumping threads more than once in a 24-hour period is considered spam. OP updated.
