Post Processing Masterclass – True to Nature Accurate & Realistic Depictions of Nature

Our most popular speaker series are the ones on Post-Processing. This will be our 3rd series and I have brought together 4 of the best teachers of post processing to demonstrate on the images submitted by YOU the photographer (not on their images) how they would approach processing the images and the pitfalls and mistakes they would watch out for.

If you have struggled with your post-processing and getting it to look and feel real to you, this is perfect series for you.

This is not just post-processing; it is a Masterclass focusing on elements of photography that are important to the photographer and the ways they think about the landscape and how they will showcase or bring it to fruition. Debuting on the NPC stage for the 1st time is the amazing Dutch photographer, Albert Dros. Albert will kick us off on January 4th and share with us how he thinks about color while capturing images and how that translates to post processing, on January 9th William Patino will be guiding us through how he sees composition among the incredible New Zealand Landscapes. Following William on January 15th will be Michael Shainblum who will talk through how he sees textures and contrasts within the field knowing what he can or cannot bring out in post-processing. Completing the series on January 22nd we will end with NPC alum Sean Bagshaw as he shares with us how he sees the light while framing up or seeing shots in the field, knowing how he will process it later.

Some of the things we will review as part of this live instruction with the ability to ask questions live.
    • How we can get our images to look realistic to what we saw in the field.
    • Seeing and hearing about some of the most common mistakes photographers make on images where they no longer reflect the scene.
    • How do the photographers you most connect with bring out the right things and not lose the viewers.
    • How, if we want to focus on a particular element (Light, composition, textures, color) you might want to approach your post processing differently.

Each class will be about 2.5 hour long sessions. Check out the LIVE schedule here:

    1. Albert Dros “Color & Depth in Landscape Photography” (January 4th) 9AM PT / 12PM ET
    2. William Patino “Landscape Composition & Contrast for Depth and Visual Flow” (January 9th) 4PM PT / 7PM ET
    3. Michael Shainblum "Creating Impact & Avoiding The Landscape Photography Pitfalls" (January 15th) 4PM PT / 7PM ET
    4. Sean Bagshaw “Seeing The Light: Learning About Light & How To Work With It” (January 22nd) 4PM PT / 7PM ET
But part of what makes this series so special is that the post-processing demonstrations and/or image review will be on YOUR images, not their images so for each speaker please prepare to submit your images related to the following topics:

    • Albert Dros - Color
    • William Patino - Composition
    • Michael Shainblum - Textures and Contrast
    • Sean Bagshaw - Light
If you want your image to be considered for a post-processing review it needs to be submitted in RAW format. If you want an image to be considered for the image review, it should be in a processed JPG. Please limit your submission to no more than 5 images. Each instructor will focus on examples and demonstrations, and some may spend more time on an image critique while others might demonstrate Post Processing techniques.

This series will be a mix of Lightroom and Photoshop demonstrating the tools and philosophies of when and where to use different techniques.

Registration for the series comes with the opportunity to ask questions live, rewatch the sessions as much as you want for as long as you want, and even download for offline viewing. They are all recorded so no need to be there live! You will have permanent access to the recordings through My Library, YouTube or Dropbox file download.

Nature Photography Classes offer are a unique opportunity to hear from and interact with people that rarely speak with audiences and are considered some of the best photography educators in the world.
