My humble opinion, its a complete trash, it's not that easy that they have shown in the tutorial, been working on cg industry for past 7 8 years, you need to know the stuff, modeling - texturing - lighting. At base level you need to know the base software to modify the geometry even if you want to use 3d models from other sources, collect whole bunch of them, buy them, license them, then again, for texture, a bunch of pirated textures, for 3d it need color texture, bump or heightmap textures, transparency/alphas and a whole lot more, then need to know how to plug them into your preferred render engine, which you need to learn all settings to get optimized noise free results. Then lighting, these 3d lights doesnt have wattages, need to use image base lighting -hdri if you need more realistic lighting. Then after all, need to output the final render into a composite exr or psd or tiff format which will contain a bunch of diffuse, ambient, reflection, refraction, specular etc. Then postprocess then into your likings, add film grains, depth of field, chromatic aberrations to match into your shot to be composited photos. Its will be whole new daunting level for photographers lol. Good luck. No offences to those who are willing to learn, its a long bumpy - adjust - wait - render process. Normal PCs will take days to output which ain't normal for Photoshop peoples, more waiting kills creativity thats why i left 3d stuff.

I completely agree with you. Previously, I thought that it was just buttons. By pressing it, we would get results, but after a period of experimenting with some 3D programs, dismissing them for me is better. Photography is better.

The fact that is NOT easy is what makes it more special and unique in a crowded market. I am totally in for this one!

Easy vs efficient in time and money.

I've watched a couple of Blender tutorials on YT and when the instructor mentioned that it would take a couple of days to render a simple 5 second video my jaw dropped to the floor.

He also mentioned an online service that can do it fast and it's around $50/month

Me, personally, what I'm looking for is the ability to create abstract backgrounds so I can place a photographed product.
Photigy has recently released tutorial to do just that:
