Hi, guys, I am trying to figure out if lightroom is better than Capture one because of the way it is integrated with the whole adobe suite. I have been using capture one all this time but they don't update as often as adobe does.

Any advice will be appreciated greatly thanks.

Because they don't notify you at all. Capture One, make sure your the one who is on the watch out list for any of their updates. That's why. You'll be surprised, eg. like me. I do have 12.0.4 before I didn't know there's already a 12.1.1.19 now.

For my experience, Capture One is pretty stable, they only update when camera and lense profiles are added, and major updates (11 to 12, for example). Or when they find minor bugs. If you have any doubt, use their customer support, it's the best with softwares I have ever seen — they even make a screen mirror to help with your problem.

Capture one is better than Lightroom, I dropped it a few years ago. Capture One has support for layers, is much faster with tethered shooting, navigation, culling etc.

In regards to retouching, the Uniform Skintones is the best feature for portraits, fashion, beauty etc.

However they Liare both RAW editors, if you are serious about retouching you will use Photoshop as well for things like (spot) healing, Cleaning, Liquify, Dodge&Burn, Frequency Separation, Color Grading etc.

These type of things can be "done" in Capture One, but not as good so I use both as most professionals, each has his purpose.

Yeah! If you don't believe in magic it's not for you. It's only for the great ones and the best!

100% agree. The Skin Tone tool is amazing. I also love how Capture One renders the RAW files. My workflow is basicaly using Capture One for RAW conversion + Photoshop for retouching.

@bruno_sfc yoh, I think it's time to make a difference, right? Right now, I'll do all of my retouchings on Capture One Pro, no more to Photoshop.

Capture One is like a mini photoshop, I like the lumamasks, layers, skin tone tool and more advanced color HSL adjustments. I hope Adobe takes notes and improves their subpar Lightroom, especially in the performance department.

Yeah, I switched from Lightroom for 4 years and never looked back. I don't even have Lightroom installed in my computer.

But I'm stuck at Photoshop mainly because the cloning and healing tool, and I Dodge & Burn really effectively with shortcuts.
