Dead Sarah Edmunds - Milan Fashion Editorial with Godox

Behind the Scenes: Fashion Editorial Photoshoot with Godox Lights

In this video, Sarah discusses her experience with a recent photoshoot, aiming to create a fashion editorial with a compelling narrative, using Godox lighting equipment. The focus was on experimenting with different lighting techniques, contrasting traditional soft lighting with the current trend of direct, harsh on-camera flash reminiscent of paparazzi style, which is gaining popularity in fashion and weddings. The discussion covers various setups, including a mix of projector snoot and soft light, natural light evaluation, and the intentions behind the editorial theme crafted by a hired stylist. The stylist conceived a 'getting ready' story for a wedding, involving models portraying a bride and bridesmaids on a "bachelorette" evening, with the twist that they decide to stay in and have fun instead of going out on the town. Sarah also discusses how she achieved motion blur, when she uses TTL (Through The Lens) metering for on-camera flash vs manual, and flash blended with ambient light for a desirable fashion aesthetic. Additionally, she describes post-processing techniques that emulate a film look, including grain addition and adjustments to mimic typical film exposure errors. The narrative concludes with a discussion on staying relevant by adapting to current trends and the importance of collaboration in creative projects.
