Watch Sue incorporate movement into her photography when a dancer, Rayna comes into the studio. Learn how to use your clients natural movements to create strong and powerful posing in your photos, then learn how to composite even more movement in post-processing.

    Preparation

Go through Sue’s thought process as she prepares for a shoot with Rayna, a dancer, on how she selected wardrobe pieces that would add to the movement she achieved in the finished images. Learn how she kept in mind the “signature shots” she wanted to create for her client.

    Items Used:

    • $40 black lace gown
    • Black frilly skirt
    • Fan

    Key Things to Take Away:

    • Using wardrobe pieces that will pay for themselves over and over again
    • Take photos of just the pieces of clothing you want portraying movement and composite them into your shot in post-processing

    Shoot

Watch Sue shoot Rayna in the black frill skirt. Since Rayna is a dancer, Sue was trying to capture a flamenco-style portrait. See how she shoots the original photos and then the photos for the composite skirt. , creating, when you have a client that can move like a dancer, remind them to stay in your frame
