Did you see my post #13? And why did you need to connect to internet? I imagine you did not follow the steps properly, Now you will need to find all associated files to the app and erase them, maybe something like App cleaner ? You need to set your clock forward, install the trial, run it once and then close it, Revert back to your current time and then run the app and you should have like mine XXX days remaining. What version did you download by the way? I am on version 2.5.9 by the way, I just install the newer one over my older version and the date stayed just like before. You did something wrong no doubt bc I just checked the original website I got the idea from and everyone has it working fine like myself.
The Set a Light app (2.5.9b, downloaded 1 hr ago) would not run without (a) an internet connection or (b) a license key inputed. I followed the steps exactly.
That is weird, what happened when you allowed it to connect? If you want I can try to get you the older version I am using which works perfect... But you will have to erase all the older files completely. My works perfectly and also for everyone else. I am asking another forum if maybe they caught on to the hack and have change the way of activating the trial.. Not sure the newer version has anything really worth upgrading any ways..
older version download 2.5.9 which works and should work the same.. Password STW2023 https://pixeldrain.com/u/3iqV4LHS PS. If you already tried, you will have to erase any of the previous files on your computer.. I still have a feeling you did something wrong bc it should work, not sure they changed much from version 2.5.9 and 2.5.9b And again, you have download it, set your clock several years ahead, install it and run it in demo mode, quit it, set your clock back to normal, and then restart computer... should work fine.. Click run studio , not activate or anything else
No, no way, not in the older version either. Even uninstalling all the versions I had before in test mode, it is clear that it has to do with the server to which the program connects in order to continue.
NO, this version should work fine, I am using as well as 100's of others, you are doing something wrong or something got left over from the newer version you installed by accident...
try using AppCleaner (which is free) and then drag all of Set a Light onto it. Then restart your computer. Then do what Snook suggested and you should be alright.
I give up, I've tried everything, I don't know what to do anymore, I've changed the date, uninstalled with App Cleaner, blocked the internet, activated a firewall, but in the end it always tells me that my trial period is over and it doesn't continue loading the program. I have also put dates before 4 years as you suggested and it didn't work either. Thanks for your time.
uninstall the app with appcleaner again and this time set the time AHEAD seven years BEFORE installing.
I can't get it to work with the version of Snook , it's just the application there is no installer as such. It doesn't matter if I put it 5 or 10 years ahead. With the Trial downloaded version it works perfectly with the current date, if I change it it tells me it needs an internet connection and crashes, if it is with the correct date it takes into account the days you have used it. Sorry for my english, I'm using a translator.
Your are setting your clock back and not forward??? Of course it will be expired.. I will try and find the installer, I used this to install over the older version. Does anybody have the older installer to share in case I cannot find it?
It's true, in the screenshot I put I did it backwards, but then I have always done it forwards and it didn't work either. Thank you for your patience
Snooks method works! here is proof. You simply set your clock foward, instal the app (internet off ) , the trial will activate for 14 days, close the app, set normal time , it will give you whatever days you wanted in trial mode. THANKS!
I also did it on my new computer yesterday... Turn off wifi, put the clock forward 10 years install choose trial studio... After it has opened once, close the app and turn your clock back to normal.. You might need something like little stitch to block outgoing connections, not sure... And it works perfectly.. Only works as far as I know on the Version I shared , so do not try downloading the latest version on their site...
