Questions Addressed:

• On Anita Images, we saw how to work with the Gradient Layer, the Gradient Tool, and how to combine each one with the use of Selections.
  
  
• Richard had a question regarding the use of various brushes, for cloning or the brush itself, and reverting back to a round brush after using a shaped one.
  
  
• We had lots of fun on Josh's Mandala Image. It was team work to get an Escher like image.
  
  
• We had a look at the Path Blur, how it works, and what it can do. Sharon will still look into a few questions regarding the Path Blur, and we will address them next week.
  
  
• Sharon shared her Little Island image to show how she cleaned all teh stains on the concrete. A lot of patience and the help of Generative AI!
  
  
• We had an informative discussion on printing your images with feedback and tips from participants on which home printers they recommend. The top ones were:

Epson Surecolor P800, Canon Pro-100, Epson ET-8550 and Epson ET 2800 Color Tank printer.

Today we learned how to create composites in Photoshop.

• How to add two pixel layers into one file.
  
  
• How to reduce your file size by only adding the relevant parts of the pixel layer to your master file.
  
  
• Creating blurs to add motion to a subject.
  
  
• Masking your subject and checking your mask for blemishes.
  
  
• We dabbled with the Layer Style and saw how to overcome the glitch of adding a mask (place layer in group and add a mask to the group).
  
  
• If you don't have any images of your own, I have attached a few images for you to work with here.

1. Judy shared with us how the new Harmonize filter within the Neural Filters (Photoshop Beta Only at this time) can beautifully take an object from one image and blend it harmoniously into another to create a composite. It will adjust the lighting, shadows and coloring - you just need to sit back and be amazed!
   
   
2. We saw how to manually check if two images are perfectly aligned with the Difference Blend Mode.
   
   
3. We reviewed Anita's ICM and composite images from last week's assignment and took the opportunity to see how the Selective Color Adjustment Layer works.

1. We post-processed David's image to give more prominence to the foreground and downplay the background so it doesn't compete with the main story.
   
   
2. On Kathleen's hummingbird, we say not only how to select a subject from the background, but also how to elegantly modify the boundaries of the selection.
   
   
3. Then we dug into Nik to see where the Vignette tool is in Color Efex Pro.
   
   
4. Lastly, we had a great discussion on gear. Tripods, bags, and how to best pack when travelling!

1. using specialty light beam brushes. Sharon explained how to test them out, how to use them, and very importantly, how to organize your favourite brushes.
   
   
2. How to create folders and import your own skies in the Photoshop Sky Replacement feature (JPGs only). We also saw how to use this feature for the mask and then import your own RAW Sky File rather than using a JPG.

1. On Anita's image, we saw how to get free images from Stock. Plus, we tried (but not too successfully) to change the background of a studio family portrait image.
2. We tried to convince Howard why Photoshop is better for post-processing than Lightroom and got into a little debate about the strengths (and weaknesses) of Lightroom.
3. Lastly, we had a look at Linda's image from the Toronto Reference Library. We saw how we can make it better by eliminating details and adding gradients.

Topics Addressed:

1. We saw how to enhance Judy's Composite Fantasy Image. Sharon suggested adding some Field Blur, enhancing the shadow under the carousel and trying to change the tones of the various horses in the carousel.
2. We saw how to search for a file on the computer and on Sharon's Website under the Archive List Page for a specific theme or topic in the Patreon video archives.
3. Sharon continued to share with the group a few more tips and tricks for the theme of Floral Tapestries. Warping with various shapes, perspective warp, working with a texture as a smart object and changing the texture/pattern.

In this session, we explored the ins and outs of the Flood 2 Software by Flaming Pair. We saw what it can and can't do, plus, we received a few recommendations for other software that can create water reflections.

1. We took a look at Irena's image of Minimalist Architecture and applied a slight straightening and square crop - stunning image, Irena! Beautiful!
   
   
2. On Carol's image, we saw how to fix blemishes in between two surfaces, at the end, just select a shape and fix the edge with some cloning. We also saw the pros and mainly cons of creating one path from another when they share a line.
   
   
3. We had a look at the Gradient Adjustment layer and how it works with selections.
   
   
4. We had a look at Dan's image, tried a few things with post-processing and decided to embrace the complexity of the image.
   
   
5. Lastly, we saw what to do if you want to incorporate some texture or a different detail into an image.

2. We took a deep dive into Richard's B&W rendition of Hudson Yards. We saw how we can tune down the sky and add pop to the windows.
   
   
3. A little housekeeping, Sharon demonstrated how to find previous Patreon recordings on the Archive List Page and do a search (CMD/CTRL+F).
   
   
4. We took a look behind the scenes in Carol's Puzzle image and saw how we can simplify her work process.
