Bahahaha, well... you know... you could have asked for help ;)

I'll get started on tackling this. If you could hold off on uploading anything new from Sharon Tenenbaum for a bit so things don't get messy, I'll ping you when I'm done.

Alright, you're good to go. The Shop talk series, Before To After series, Talk & learn, and special series are all complete.

I've added the Creator URLs to the beginning of each thread. I also copied titles into the text of posts that were missing it in an attempt to match the format you used on most other posts for a consistent experience. You may want to peruse to make sure I didn't make any mistakes and edit as you see fit. I did have to delete two episodes that appear to have been accidentally duplicated - you should have received a notification about those. In each case, I deleted the duplicate post that had the fewest likes. That said, if you meant them to be other episodes (I saw you had a couple gaps in episode numbers), let me know and I can restore those posts and you can use them to place the missing episodes, if that's what happened, to preserve the continuity of when you posted them.

    Hi,
@IronMarco, I cannot see the session #113. Is there any reason for that? Do you have it? Thanks.

Thanks, Nikon. Appreciate ya. It's kind of helped that I've been a bit down for the count because of a recent surgery - so I've had a little extra time to spend just on helping to clean up the forum. But it is a bit of a thankless task, for sure, so it's nice to read the encouragement, nonetheless.

    135 SHOP TALK - June 23, 2026

    upload_2026-6-30_11-33-16.png

    Topics Addressed:

    1. We discussed the various sharpening tools available today, including Topaz and other popular software. Everyone shared their experiences and recommendations, making for a valuable discussion on the strengths and weaknesses of each option.

    2. Sharon shared her creative vision for one of her Valencia images—the iconic staircase inside the Opera House—and discussed her goal of creating an image inspired by the clean, minimalist style of Herb Ritts.

    3. As a group, we brainstormed ideas for an upcoming Special Series. The overwhelming favourite was Watercolour Photography, and after reviewing several inspiring examples on Instagram, everyone agreed it would be a fun and exciting direction to explore.

    4. Another idea that generated enthusiasm was exploring the creative use of colour filters, such as gold toning and black-and-white filters. This is another topic we'll be covering in a future Special Series.

    136 SHOP TALK - July 21, 2026

    upload_2026-9-3_10-54-3.png

    In today's session, we:

    1. Explored David's striking close-up of red flower petals. Together, we worked on enhancing the image by creating greater tonal range, depth, and separation through the use of layers.

    2. Reviewed Yuki's beautiful ICM image. Inspired by the style of Shona Perkins, we explored how to achieve a similar mood and painterly feel—not through Dodge and Burn, as Shona does, but by using Photoshop's Solid Colour Adjustment Layer, along with several other adjustment layers, to introduce colour, atmosphere, and tonal richness. We also discussed various cropping options and how composition can strengthen the visual story.

    3. Looked at two images from Cindy, where we discussed why a foreground isn't always essential to a successful composition. We explored alternative ways to create depth, strengthen the narrative, and guide the viewer's eye through the image.

137 SHOP TALK - July 28, 2026 - Digital Oil Painting with Cindy Gosselin

    upload_2026-9-3_10-55-34.png

Today we mainly saw Cindy Gosselin's presentation on how to use and get started with Mixer Brushes. Cindy showed us how to find theMixer Brush, understand the settings and how to get started. Next week, participants are encouraged to submit images they have created using this technique, and on August 11, Cindy will be there to answer any questions.

To start, Cindy recommends reading the article she wrote for the Photographic Society of America and notes (both are attached). Then it might be useful as a beginner first step for those interested to create backgrounds. Either use an existing image or create a new canvas with colors you want. Then use chunky or “textured” brushes to mix the colors with the mixer brush. This would not necessitate the use of a Wacom pen. You can use purchased backgrounds…. But its fun to create your own and afterwards tackle painting in a subject.

Also in today's session, we saw Yuki's floral painted images and Kim's attempt at an Archi Sketch image 9an ongoing learning process for us all!)

    138 SHOP TALK - August 4, 2026 - Digital Oil Painting Part 2

    upload_2026-9-3_10-57-45.png

Today we saw Patreons' work of implementing the Mixer Brush Tool. It was an excellent first attempt. Next week we will continue this topic, as Cindy Gosselin will be there to answer our questions and take us further along this creative path.

    139 SHOP TALK - August 11, 2026 - Digital Oil Painting Part 3

    upload_2026-9-3_10-59-3.png

Today we wrapped up this mini-series on Digital Oil Painting and the creative use of the Photoshop Mixer Brush. Cindy Gosselin answered all of your questions and shared several advanced techniques, including how to paint realistic eyes and the ideal zoom level to work at while painting. It was an outstanding session and one you won't want to miss!

Cindy was also kind enough to share her collection of Nose, Hair, and Fur Brushes by Sandra Pearce and Julie Powell, with their generous permission. A heartfelt thank you to Sandra and Julie for making these resources available to our community.

I'm quite certain this won't be the last time we revisit this beautiful and incredibly creative technique. There is still so much to explore, and I look forward to building on what we've learned.

Finally, I want to thank everyone who took the time to practice the technique and submit images for discussion. It is through your willingness to experiment, share your work, and ask questions that we all continue to learn and grow together.
