Included is a thorough tutorial by Pratik on how to apply these backdrop overlays properly.

    change texture blending mode to softlight and mask out your subject. Thats all.

    Tutorial:
    Change texture Blending Mode > Softlight and then, mask out the subject by using the Brush Tool. White > Reveals & Black > Conceals. Thats all. > accdg to @stevestone

    > create new Photo Filter adjustment layer > copy the mask from texture layer > invert the mask > choose appropriate color temperature in Photo Filter menu to match the texture
