run the code in the included text file in Terminal after you install the software. Don't open it until you use the termina.
Try uninstalling using App Cleaner (free) and then try installing again. Be sure to install the dmg first, let it finish and then copy and paste the code from the readme file to the terminal. Once that's done it should be up and running. My install works fine.

Have you tried rendering out a test video? If it doesn't have a watermark, then you can ignore the trial bit.
make sure you put your password into the terminal before opening the app. The patch must be applied before the software can be opened.
