.vtt and .srt files

    What are those .vrt and .srt sidecar files that sometime accompany the video file? Can they be deleted without causing problems?

    They are subtitles containers.

    I'd like those to be included in every tutorial. Please remember, there are Deaf / HOH (hard of hearing) members around or people who struggle to understand the person who's speaks on video so, subtitles can be handy.
    I'm Deaf myself, not easy to find tutorials with subtitles because whoever ripped it are too lazy to include subtitles and I'm sure it's not that difficult ;)

    To answer Jupiter's question, yes it's safe to delete them but they're small and should consider keeping them as a backup in case if ANYONE out there who might need them in the future?
