Good effort. A little more bokeh vignette (fake depth of field for focus) around the edges and you got it. Green on branch the kid is holding a little too strong IMO but otherwise you are there.

The kids skin is a little on the orange side, the green in branch dont match the green in the trees, and I think the sky is a little too bright, or the colors just dont go with the whole scene. Its a good try tho :)

    It's a good effort.

Here is what I would recommend.

    1) Sky is too bright. Your subject should almost always have the brightest point and it shouldn't be over-exposed.
    2) As @Daukness said, the green of the branch the kid is holding is off from the rest of the greens.
    3) You need to color match the individual elements so they look like a cohesive whole. Always watch your skin tones.

You're about 85%-90% of the way there. Nice job.

The last one is leaps better! good job! A couple things I like to keep in mind is to make sure skin tones are correct and keep the direction of light as consistent as possible across the elements.

Down the line when you start shooting your own back plates and such make sure to keep camera angle and lens choice consistent as well. The less you need to adjust/blend/correct in post the better. Keep up the good work.

Whoa. That's great good compared to the latter. The only thing I see that hints at my eye a bit is how sharp the edges are around the boulders in the foreground. Outside of that, its pretty amazing.

I can definitely see significant improvement upon the 1st photograph, keep up the good work.

I have come across a great sky replacement application called Luminar 4 which more or less does a great job with the click of a button and sliding a few sliders. Without going over in-depth composite tutorials, what are the top tips for creating compelling composites/sky replacements besides trying to match the direction of the light of the sky to the rest of the composite photograph, especially to the subject?

My personal bug bear is perspective/angle of view. This is usually a mistake seen with first timers more than anything else but the concept of perspective and knowing how to manipulate it is often overlooked. Blending elements is another key element that's hard to get right in the beginning.

I see where you are coming from thanks for the tips. With perspectice and and angle of viee do you also include a shot taken with a telephoto lens and a shot taken with ultra wide angle lens? Im sure trying to blend a 200mm sky shot into a 14mm landscape will prove difficulty.

Yes!! So many people don't realize that FL does more than zoom. Take a simple example, shooting a subject with a 50mm and an 85mm while keeping the subject size the same. The 85 will have far less BG showing than the 50 even with identical framing. This is such a powerful creative tool and one of the reasons I choose to shoot tight with wider lenses.

This applies to landscapes as well. IDK if you have any familiarity with traditional art but there's something called the vanishing point when learning perspective. A fundamental understanding of this idea will make a huge difference since you pay more attention to how you use the elements in your frame.

All that being said if you want to use different FLs for your shot that's OK too since this is a creative field and it is a creative decision.

I would liquify the side of her dress where there is a slight indentation. The flow of the dress from a standing position would look more natural.
