There seems to be no less than a million photographers selling presets. I'm impatient. Can you recommend only those presets that have been life-altering for you? Many thanks.

For me I use Archipelago Asteria alot, a bunch of other Archipelago presets, miss match them, copy curves from other presets for contrast and cobalt as base for editing, sometimes colors from a preset, and contrast from other. I usually export luts from davinci film emulation plugins and load them as profiles/preset on camera raw, anything to get the job done. A little bit of color balance adjustment presets from Sean Archer's portrait pack helps a lot.
Presets usually depends on the type of region we are located to, at our place people want saturated larger than life photos with perfect white balance but in most of Western countries I see people prefer more of warm muted green colors.

Depends on your use case. For portraits I have found Refined and The Archetype Process to be great. For street photography film look I have tried a lot and the best I have found are Jamie Windsor and The Classic Presets. They're both amazing!
