i have the a7iv as well and this might just be up there with the phantom luts maybe even slightly better,enjoy!

 

I had the FX3 and sold it and actually like the A7IV even more for some odd reason. Best all around video and photographic camera I have owned..

The folder that say a7iv.....full to video.....wdr(wide dynamic range)...pick one.....I just use the full to video.....shoot slog 3.....I use a monitor......and whatever my eyes like is what I go with......the a7iv is not like previous camera where you HAVE to shoot overexposed by 2 stops......this camera is "what you see is what you get" which is amazing in my opinion......it's pretty much impossible to expose incorrectly on here

Yes indeed, I usually shoot between +1.3 to +1.7 and it is butter. I actually am loving the Tropic Colour Sony Lut's believe it or not.
On a side note, I actually got an over heating yesterday on a shoot and the camera actually shut down. First time it ever has happened to me even having the camera on HIGH temperature. It is summer where I live and was in a Factory that was kind of hot but not that hot. And I was shooting 4K 60p almost 90% of the time.
I had the FX3 but sold it and Love the A7IV. I never really shot much 120p 4K and figured I would be better off with a true hybrid for my personal projects as I usually have my team rent Arri Alexa's or RED's when I need them on Bigger jobs.

Why did you sell the fx3?

 

A couple of reasons, but mainly because in the pandemic I was able to sell it for more than I bought it, I did not use 120p 4K hardly at all and I sold it and got the A7IV which I actually like better plus it take 33 mp pictures. Has a better autofocus and sharper and a better image in my opinion. If they come out with a version with internal Nd's I would consider buying another one. I am a professional for over 20 years and usually rent Bigger cameras on big projects but for smaller ones, I prefer the A7IV. except for the occasion over heating on hot days. But that is also bc I shoot 4K 60p almost 90% of the time.
The FX3 is an awesome camera by all standards. But after having both, I actually like the A7IV more.

 

I just recently picked one up which is why I ask. It sounds like you value photo vs video and it makes sense to keep the a74. The FX3 is designed as a cine cam and I feel your answer would be different if you shoot more video than photos. I also own an R5 mainly for photography (high MP and insane autofocus). The main reason I got the FX3 was the DR, low-noise high iso and color science. The video on the R5 is pretty decent and compares well with the R5c.
