With this approach, it's beneficial for me to be a mere bystander. I'll sit quietly, download, and not show any activity. Many people do that here... why would I bother spoiling my nerves?:):):)

I have a lot of new material to share, but I feel discouraged. I would appreciate it if you could provide constructive feedback and suggestions rather than making the conditions unbearable. Please let me know if you don't want me to proceed with uploading new content.

@anza32, your message is addressed to the moderators, still you’ve made it public, so I guess anyone can have their say. When you say ‘this approach’, which approach are you referring to? I just want to better understand your point :)

I guess I'll chime in here since I appear to be the first mod to see this and just issued the most recent warning. Anza is referring to the fact that just since January, moderators have had to issue warnings 17 times for rule violations. I have to imagine it's getting pretty annoying to have your account restricted and to have posts deleted. But it really is very simple, anza: just follow the rules.

If I take just a sampling of the warnings: Don't post duplicates, don't post links from premium file downloaders that require people to have to pay, don't post torrents, respect the do not post list, make sure to follow the posting guidelines, etc. you're developing quite the list. I don't want to hash out your infractions in front of everyone, but since you don't seem to like to respond to private attempts at communication, and you want to do it here, I'll take one specific example, a common one that you're not alone in (and that you've recently improved on actually, so nice job on that!): duplicate posting. The warning you were issued reads (and I'm quoting exactly): "Use search before posting - Do not post duplicates - 3rd warning - points applied" - that's pretty descriptive. I'm not sure what kind of additional "constructive feedback and suggestions" you're looking for, but "Do not post duplicates" is pretty specific.

The bottom line is that this isn't your personal group to do with what you will. The rules are listed plainly for anyone to see. I'll link them here again. And when a warning is issued, you can see the specific reason in your notifications that the moderator typed into the warning - when you ignore warnings to do the exact same things you were already warned about, the warnings escalate with points. Moderators shouldn't have to frequently (and sometimes repeatedly) remind you of the rules through commenting on your posts or via use of the warning system. You should already know them. Just take some time to read through them and the guidelines they link to. If you have any questions about something specific in the rules, feel free to send a DM and ask!

All that said, I agree: you've posted some good stuff and have been helpful with mirrors, and I encourage you to keep sharing and participating, but please do it within the boundaries of the rules (same as everyone else) and everything will be fine.

Once you hit three warning points, the system automatically sets you to restricted mode. The restricted mode prevents any editing of posts and prevents the use of the like button (meaning you temporarily can't download new stuff from other members). Most types of warnings are time limited. Once the time limit expires on a point, the point falls off and you can no longer see the associated warning. Once the time limit expires on enough points to drop you below three points, your account will automatically become unrestricted.

To answer your question about what we're here for: Moderators are here to help the group run smoothly through a variety of actions. On one hand, yes, we enforce the rules when we have to. I know it might seem a bit ironic that a group that breaks the rules by sharing content we shouldn't has rules of it's own, but that's how any good, coherent, and mutually beneficial community operates.

On the other hand, we (moderators) help grease the wheels. We help keep things organized so people can find stuff easily. We clean the forum (or at least try to lol). We help to keep links active where we can. We help new folks get acclimated and help people find stuff. We handle the reports from members and help to resolve disputes. We help the admins keep a finger on the pulse. We can step in to run group buys if we choose. We also participate as regular members, sharing and downloading content just like everyone else.

So I guess you could look at moderators as a limiting factor if you choose to. I guess if your goal is to have no limits on what you can do while you participate in this group, then yeah... I suppose we'll be a "problem" for you. Or you can play by the same rules as everyone else and this will all just be a temporary bump in the road. Up to you, really.

Jesus, now you're just trying to piss me off on purpose. You know one of those rules that you claim to "know" is that this is an English-only forum, right? So even though you may not even bother reading what I wrote, as you say, because it's in English, the forum is NOT for all languages, despite whatever it is that you think you understand. Anyway, I'm done trying to help you. You can either choose to play by the rules and benefit from this group, or you can see your way out the door. Or, if you make it necessary, we can help you out the door. Hopefully, it doesn't come to that.

Not sure what he/she has done and not my business, However I many times was "restricted" for things that were do to the search function problems here which is not good at finding things already shared plus the fact that many people do NOT properly make their titles in the shares correct. I am glad @curiousdude has been cleaning those up lately. But do to those restrictions to me in the past when they were "doubtful" that I was purposely trying to get a couple of likes, which I never really even needed bc my amount of trophy points would get me Gold status for years to come, for a duplicate share or something that was partly shared or I honestly did not see it in the search function. Usually when you start posting a share with a title, it is supposed to come up as you are writing it if it was "shared" already. Just my personal experience yet I was restricted several times which only hurt the community here bc I shared a lot less bc I was "worried" about being restricted for sharing something that may have been "shared" already.
I can see that maybe it is not the same case at all with @anza32 but after reading this post I wanted to comment on my experience.
But absolutely , Rules are Rules and should be followed. But this is a share site and I think about 90% if everything shared here has come from some other shared site and not purchased by the person sharing here except for the group buys and "cheaper" items people buy to share here to get "likes".

This is exactly what I also want to say.... there is no search at all... the moderator is smart... everyone is fools. I’m looking for no topic in the search...then the moderator says, but here it is under a different name...and restrictions...wonderful and wonderful. You need to tell the admin to change the forum engine... the search does not work normally.... not at all... unless there is a complete match
