RAW files for retouching practise

As per Rule 17, Do not post free stuff. Except if there is a promotion and the content is available for free for a limited time.

However, i understand that most of the files from MM would be for a limited time and so the moderators can provide an exemption for this.
@h1ghm1nd @george please advice if posting of Practise Raw files is allowed.

If its ok, you can upload them to Mega.nz and share them for the forum members to work on.

yeah, I would like to request for this before. So we could know everyone how they are doing. If they do improve or needed some critic. So we could honed our skills to be much better. But on the contrary, we might end up with bumping into someone's ass due to copyright of the photo owner or with the photographer, if we will used the photos in the tutorial or within the modules. Again, I need to highlight that we needed to protect this site so it could last a lifetime.

If it will be alright, if we do have inhouse or calling our photographer's in here if you would like to share your work. So, that we could have some practice / to have a rendition of photo retouching or possible collaboration with anyone, if the end result will be good for the photographer.

@george and if it will be possible if we could have a section for submission of entries of photos. (This is also another way for our photographer's to connect each other to seek advise to their work). And also another section for critics on rendition photos.

The photos could be landscape, portrait, city or architecture, product or jewelry and accessories, food, and many more...

 

This is a great idea. We have an opportunity to make this forum far more than it is. It would improve user engagement to a great extent.
@george, we can have some of these only for GOLD users. Or may be only some of the GOLD features and rest non-gold.

The only downside I see in this is that, it would reveal the anonimity of some users who are not here with their real names, and do not want to be tracked via pictures they share for practice.

I love... love... love... to read the word "copyright" in this community... one won't find anywhere else such weird interpretations of it. So... spreading gigantic online shops full of pricey tutorials to the world is fine but OMG pls don't share any photographs! Haha... never read so much bullshit in a single post for a while.

Everyone here who shares, likes and supports others in this club is constantly violating the rights of all the creators out there. I'm too. It's a very simple fact and we all need to understand this. If one has qualms about it is another story. Keep your thoughts about your moral disorientation to yourself.

 

Ok.. I'm at a loss here as to whether or not I'm allowed to share the RAW files I've collected for practise or not?

I've collected them from VK groups, Facebook Groups, Model Mayhem and other sources too and they're all in folders with the photographers name - these photographers shared their RAW files for retouchers to practise on and a lot of them came from openly accessible dropbox / yadi.sk folders that have since been removed, the photographers allowed retouchers to use their materials to practise as long as the photographer is clearly credited.

Obviously I don't want to cause any trouble or aggravation for anyone, I just thought it would be nice to have a little database of clearly credited images that retouchers could use for their portfolios.

 

Please share, I also have several RAW files and I've never thought about sharing them :O

Guys, have seen any RAW files on and Downloading Sites such as GFXTRA or CGpersia or any. I guess they don't have, right. Hoping you've understand what is all about copyright.

 

I have shared some RAW files that were handed out for the same purpose. I know MilesofColor and Eli Infante share RAWs regularly on their Youtube Channels for people to practice along with their edits. As long as the images are not stolen off someones hard drive, you are fine.

As @Leona95 stated, everyone on this forum is most likely guilty of some copyright law. The chances of someone coming after you for content they shared online for free is very very small. The choice is yours.

However, since it is for educational purpose, it can be used.
However, if the user decides to post it on Social Media with his Tag, then its on his/her own risk.
The group wouldn't be blamed.

It basically provides free RAW files to anyone that wants to practice editing. Very likely not as good as RAW files from members here, but it is a good starting point.

The Intention was to have files for Members to Practise and nothing else.

This is same as how you use practise files from the course material.
In fact, in Retouch Tata Course, there were 100s of Raw files supplied along with the course for practise.
This includes files from Retouch Academy, Model Mayhem etc.

If someone want to make money out of it or misuse them, then he/she may have to face the consequences / copyright issues.

Further, you can access below link to Download 1000s of Raw Files by Alexander Croft.
He has given his permission to Download & use his Raw files for Practise and for Social Media with Credits to him.
