Gold Member Daily Likes

That is a frustrating issue when you're new - you're burning your quota of 'likes' on non-functional links. I wish there was a bot or something of the sort to auto-check links from time-to-time. The responsibility is that of the OP and/or the peep providing a mirror (as present rules outline). However - this can be cumbersome as well for those that have many posts. Host sites are only as good as the limits allow . . . based on if it's free or subscribed. etc.

It's a good idea to request a re-post for those items that are toast - but also TAG - - - use the "@" symbol and the posters ID; eg. @Nikon4life or @wmtonz - - - the OP and any peep providing the mirror so that it's brought to their attention . . . hope this helps a little.

Also remember that your likes are merely limited until you reach a certain threshold of "likes" gained in total. This is in place to hedge the house to encourage the newbie to contribute - this can be done by posting something not here or actually finding material that indeed requires a mirror. Overall the system is not ideal but it is relatively fair. Tweaks will undoubtedly surface from time-to-time and I've even seen it where newly-implemented "rules" were retracted in response to community feedback . . .

Noting two elements from that FAQ:
Q: How many times can I press the like button(reveal hidden download link)?
A: There is a 20 likes limit per 24 hours for every member(including Gold members). But once you get at least 1000 likes, this limit will be removed.

Q: Why I cannot post a new thread or a new post anymore?
A: There is a limit of 3 threads and 10 posts per 24 hours. Once you get at least 1000 likes, this limit will be removed.

Seeing you've been a member since 2019 - I'm surprised you've not yet reached 1000 likes. Not knowing how many times you've bought Gold status [but hampered by the 20-like/day limit] since 2019 is also of consideration. Not specific to you - but perhaps those in similar status (and frustration) - would it be a better strategy to focus of accumulating 1000 likes as priority to unlock that limit?

Now - specific to @wmtonz : A quick review of your posts indicates the following:



You may be limited due to location or other situational elements - but perhaps posting items (if possible) from time-to-time - would certainly expedite your path toward unlocking the daily limit. Also - you can always ask George as outlined in the first link above to up your limit based on his review of your standing within the forum.

Please don't take this as a criticism - but merely an observation I'm making in the moment of reading this thread (and drinking a Blue Moon) - and with that - I'm off for another . . . 2nd . . . and probably limit (speaking of limits; I'm a light-weight . . . ).

 

I would love to share some stuff in this fantastic community, but I don't have enough money to purchase digital products to do so. and the only time I can purchase gold is when I have extra money lmao. Thanks for the heads up..ill note all the info you shared.

 

You can earn likes by posting mirrors, too. If you've downloaded something and the OP link has expired, you can help keep the thread alive and earn likes in the process. Earning 1k likes is a little grindy this way, but you can easily do it within a month or two and then you won't be restricted anymore!
