    Choose mode "unlisted" when uploading video to youtube.
    Then you can see private link and translate.

    hi, can you explain how did you do it? i tried with another russian video. youtube didn't refuse my video this time but i spend an hour to figure it out how to let youtube creating english subtitles! Thank you!

    I need to find time to make a full tutorial. but for now a short one

    I load the video into after effect and create a solid black layer above the video.

    send to media encoder to render as a 480p youtube video.

    this will reduce a 1gig video to about 250mb or less file.

    i upload the smaller video to youtube and set the language as russian then WAIT

    in few hours or overnight, youtube come around and create CC for it.

    when that happen, there will be a green dot for russian auto CC under the CC/subtitle tab

    then you export the CC as srt file

    EDIT: I no longer download the sub from youtube. Instead I use http://downsub.com/ to grab the CC because they do better Timing synchronization

    then I load that srt file to this url http://www.syedgakbar.com/projects/dst

    choose tranlate to english. important to scroll the window down slowly to make sure google will translate everyline

    then i export as a new english srt.

    All ingenious is simple. Why I did not think of black layer myself?
    Usually I use Handbrake to recode file into 480p with 400 Kb/s stream. But with black layer recode will be much faster.

    And in this topic https://p-v.club/threads/russian-tutorials.7634/#post-24663 Janabart gives good advices.
